Bridget Esler
Praised for her “enchanting and expressive singing” and her “buoyant charm as an actor,” Vancouver-born soprano Bridget Esler joins the Atelier lyrique in the 2024-25 season. Her recent and upcoming roles include Nightingale/Pastourelle/Owl in L’enfant et les sortilèges (Opéra de Montréal), Monica in The Medium, the Parrot in the Canadian premiere of Anna Pidgorna’s Plaything (Musique 3 Femmes), and Mary in Street Scene (Opera McGill). Experienced on the competition, concert, and recital stages, Bridget was named Most Outstanding Canadian Musician at the 2024 Royal Over-Seas League Competition and has performed across Canada, Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States with ensembles including the London Symphony Orchestra and the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra. She is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and McGill University, and has undertaken further training at the Marlboro Festival, Tanglewood Music Center, and Samling Artist Programme.
