Justine Ledoux
Renowned for her “remarkably communicative voice and very convincing playing” (Revue L'Opéra), Québec mezzo-soprano Justine Ledoux is completing an artist residency in 2024 at Calgary Opera's McPhee Artist Development Program. During the 2022-24 seasons, she appeared as Wellgunde in Das Rheingold (Wagner), Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro (Mozart), Béatrice et Ursule in Béatrice et Bénédict (Berlioz), and Mercédès in Carmen (Bizet). In the summer of 2024, Justine joins the Brott Opera to make her debut as Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Rossini). In 2025, she will perform the roles of La Tasse and La Libellule in Ravel's L'Enfant et les sortilèges at the Opéra de Montréal.
Her achievements include an artist residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity: Opera in the 21st Century, where she performed the role of Rachel in Adoration by M. Kouyoumdjian and R. Vavrek. Justine has been selected by the Young Lyric Ambassadors 2024, consolidating her growing reputation as an emerging young artist. Justine continues her education under the tutelage of Lena Hellström-Färnlöf, Director of the Academy of Music and Opera at the University of Mälardalen.
