Selina Ann
For over twenty years, Selina Ann has had the pleasure of orating the art of the written word to book lovers of all ages. From several years working as a private French elementary school educator to many years as a volunteer English and French school librarian, Selina has spent many happy hours reading to young people, in English, French, and Spanish.
Selina Ann’s love of old-world fairytale and folklore storytelling motivated her to recite to Zoom audiences during the pandemic’s lockdown years, when the need for connection and comfort was at its greatest for children and for grownups. Her virtual storytelling, with accompanying illustrations, captured imaginations within Lachine’s local Unitarian chapter. Aesop’s fables, Grimm’s and H. C. Anderson’s fairytales resonated with families, while spiritually-inspired poems, ancient folklore and sleuthing mysteries appealed to parents and seniors.
A lover of books, art, and writing from a very early age, Selina Ann has pursued her passion into adulthood with a penchant for late night reading, second-hand book collecting, and short story and poetry composing. She has been a recipient of English Writing and History scholarships and has been recognized for her youth and young adult short story compositions and historical literature research papers.
Whether orating from the stage to a quiet crowd of listeners or reciting while cross-legged on a carpet to a tiny gathering of perked kindergarten ears, Selina Ann excels at connecting her audience with the magic embodied in cross-cultural stories that find resonance within every human heart.
